Obituary

Funeral services for Raymond Allen Gibson, 90, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor and chaplain, and Leonel Gonzales of VistaCare Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood Dunning Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Gibson died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at his residence. He was born Dec. 13, 1917, to Fred and Annie Gibson in Mayfield. He attended schools in Crowell and attended Wayland Baptist University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of College Heights Baptist Church. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for 34 years in Plainview and Amarillo. Survivors include his wife, Chrystelle "Chris" Haydon Gibson of Plainview; one son, Ronald Bob Gibson of Carrollton; a daughter-in-law, Betty Gibson; two daughters, Cynthia Pearl Douglas and Brenda Chrystelle Keenum, both of Plainview; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. His grandson, Christopher Douglas, is deceased
