Obituary

HALE CENTER - Funeral services for Millard H. Gibson, 88, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Saul, interim pastor, and the Rev. Ted Latham officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mr. Gibson died Sunday, June 9, 2002, in Plainview. He was born Sept. 27, 1913, east of Hale Center, the son of the late Franklin Joseph and Myra Elizabeth Mitchener Gibson. He graduated from Hale Center High School in 1933 and retired from farming in 1975. On Dec. 16, 1939, he married Corinne Dobbins in Stonewall County. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and First Baptist Church where he was active in the Baptist Men?s organization. Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosaline and Bill T. Williams of Trent and Beth and Jackie Rumbaugh of Kress; and four grandchildren, Candace Williams of San Angelo, Slate Williams of Lubbock, Chris Rumbaugh of Dallas and Joshua Rumbaugh of Kress. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
