Obituary

PETERSBURG - Funeral services for Vera W. Gentry, 53, of Lamesa, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Petersburg First Baptist Church with the Rev. O.W. Gentry officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery by Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa. Mrs. Gentry died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001. She was born May 26, 1948, in Levelland. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1966 and worked with Travelers Insurance for 15 years and with United Parcel Service for 12. She was a member of St. John?s Missionary Baptist Church in Lamesa. In May of 1966, she married Eugene Gentry. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kimberly Bethany of Plainview and Krista Sargent of Brownfield; her mother, Rosie Lee White of Petersburg; two brothers, Robert J. White Jr., of Lubbock and John L. White of Amarillo; two sisters, Ruby J. Jackson of Denver, Colo., and Wilma J. Colomb of Abilene; and six grandchildren.
