Gatica, Jose Alfredo

Rosary for Jose Alfredo Gatica, 57, of Abernathy will be 7 p.m. tonight, Nov. 2, 2005, at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the church with the Rev. Rene Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

He died Monday, Oct. 31, in Lubbock.

Mr. Gatica was born March 19, 1948 in Taft. He married Maria Marquez July 17, 1976 in Lubbock. He moved to Abernathy from Lubbock 29 years ago. He was a member and usher at St. Isidore Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Juan Inez Gatica, in 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Gatica of Abernathy; a daughter, Delfina Gonzales of Amarillo; three sons, Jose Juan Gatica of Abernathy, Ignacio Gatica of Lubbock, and Victor Alfredo Gatica of Amarillo; three sisters, Janie Esparza of Idalou, Rosa Maria Barron of Phoenix, Ariz., and Inez Luera of Wallis; and eight grandchildren.
