Funeral services for H.W. ?Henry? Garrett Jr, 90, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mr. Garrett died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, in Covenant Hospital Plainview.

He was born July 7, 1913, in Italy, Texas. He moved to Plainview at an early age and graduated from Plainview High School in 1932.

He farmed with his father for a while and in 1935, he and his brother, Albert P. Garrett, bought Cloverlake Creamery from Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Morehead. Some of their customers were Blair Drug, West Pharmacy, Alexander Drug, Camp?s Pharmacy and Dunn Drug.

In the late 1930s, they also delivered to the surrounding towns, within 100 miles of Plainview. In 1944 they started their own dairy to supplement the increased need of milk products and later moved the dairy to the 320-acre farm in Rinney and established Cloverlake Dairy.

In 1973, they sold the creamery business, located in the 700 block of Austin Street, to Bell Dairy Products, Inc.

On Oct. 17, 1937, Mr. Garrett married Geraldine ?Jerry? Mise in Plainview. She died Dec. 6, 1993.

Survivors include five nieces, Paulette Cooper of Lubbock, Betsy Estes of Livingston, Dorothy Grigsby of Wheat Ridge, Colo., Dona Hampton of Boster City, La., and Mary Pitts of Lovington, N.M.; and four nephews, Everett Bryan of Amarillo, John Bryan of Placitos, N.M., Kenneth Garrett of Kingman, Ariz., and Don Mise of Lewisville.
