Obituary

Funeral Mass for Richard Kenedy Garcia Sr., 68, of Garden City, Kan., will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A rosary service will be from 6-7 p.m. Sunday at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Mr. Garcia died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at his home in Garden City. He was born April 23, 1942, in Renville, Minn., to Juan and Maria Kenedy Garcia. He married Mary Isabel Gonzales on Aug. 14, 1971, in Plainview. He moved to Garden City from Plainview in 1984. He retired from UBC Lumber in 1998. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard K. Garcia Jr. and Rene G. Garcia of Garden City and Robert G. Garcia of Greeley, Colo.; one daughter, Linda M. Corrales of Garden City; five brothers, Cruz Garcia of Holcomb, Kan., Abraham Garcia of Amarillo, Johnny Garcia of Wichita, Kan., Joe Garcia of Lubbock and Rolando Garcia of Phoenix; four sisters, Ramona Sanchez of Pleasanton, Maria Garcia of Garden City, Geneva Castro of California and Josie Castro of Washington; and 14 grandchildren.
