Obituary

Porfirio H. Garcia, 84, of Plainview passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Garcia was born on Feb. 26, 1931, to Julian and Benita Garcia. He married Blasita Gonzales on April 18, 1960. He is preceded in death by two sons, Carlos J. Garcia and Porfirio Garcia Jr. He is survived by his wife, Blasita Garcia of Plainview; six daughters, Linda Rivera and husband Juan of Lockney, Eva Nord and husband Cody of Round Rock, Debbie Landa and husband Paul of Snyder, Josie Brown and husband Bill of Edmonson, Norma Garcia and J.B. Underwood of Carlsbad and JoAnn Rey and husband Rigo of Plainview; one son, Danny Garcia of El Paso; three sisters, Mary Lou Fuentes, Mary Carter and Petra Sanchez; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
