Garcia, Pedro

Funeral services for Pedro Garcia, 88, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerard Kenney, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Mr. Garcia died at 2 a.m. Friday, Jan 28, 2001, in Care Inn of Plainview.

Born Oct. 12, 1912, in Lockhart, he married Julia Vera on Sept. 7, 1934, in San Marcus. She died May 24, 1991.

Mr. Garcia worked as a farmer for many years in Tahoka, San Marcus and Tulia. He moved to Plainview in 1983.

He was a member of the Cursillistas.

Survivors include two daughters, Petra Peralez of Houston and Rosalinda Dominguez of Round Rock; four sons, Paul Garcia of Plainview, Sylvester Garcia of Gresham, Ore., Lupe Garcia of Borger and Juan Garcia of Plainview; one sister, Nieves Garcia of San Marcus; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
