Obituary

Funeral services for Juan Bautista Garcia, 71, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulo officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Garcia died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center Lubbock. He was born Aug. 29, 1934, in Rio Grande City to Juan and Guadalupe Garcia. He married Maria Melendez on Jan. 10, 1960, in Nueces County. He came to Floydada in 1960 from Edcouch and moved to Plainview in 1968. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Manuel Garcia and Pablo Garcia, both of Plainview; three daughters, San Juanita Sims, Martina Rodriguez and Maria Garcia, all of Plainview; two sisters, Maria Delgado of Amarillo and Refilla Morales of Cattleman, Calif.; one brother, Manuel Garcia of Seattle, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchil
