Obituary

Funeral services for Manuela Martinez Garcia, 82, of Hale Center will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Theresas Catholic Church in Hale Center. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. Theresas Catholic Church in Hale Center. Burial will follow in Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mrs. Garcia died Friday, December 12, 2008, in Plainview. She was born Dec. 17, 1925 in Elroy. She married Genaro Garcia Sr. She was a longtime resident of Hale Center and a member of St. Theresas Catholic Church. She is survived by eight children, Gloria Calderon of Euless, Georgia Castillo of Haltom, Johnny Joe Garcia of Lubbock, Linda Hinojosa of North Richland Hills, Ricky Garcia of Ozark, Ark., and Lupe Castillo, Genaro Garcia Jr. and Christine Reyna, all of Hale Center; three siblings Simon Martinez, Raquel Gomez and Leopoldo Martinez, all of Hale Center, and Angie Martinez of Lubbock; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
