Obituary

Erasmo "Eddie" H Garcia, 77, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center. Services for Mr. Garcia will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church with Father Emiliano Zapata officiating. Burial will follow at Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. There will be a rosary held 7 p.m. tonight at Calvillo Funeral Home.

Erasmo was born November 22, 1934 in Monterrey, Mexico to Manuel and Felicita Garcia. He graduated from high school in Monterrey and later married Minerva Lopez on February 25, 1956 in Lubbock. For a majority of his life, Erasmo worked as a Manager for Galbrauth Steel and attended St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Minerva Garcia of Lubbock; two sons, Erasmo and (wife) Mary Garcia, Salvador Garcia all of Lubbock; four brothers, Raul Garcia, Manuel Garcia, Jose Luis Garcia and Ruben Garcia all of Monterrey, Mexico; one sister, Julia Garcia of Monterrey,Mexico; three granddaughters, Amie Talamantez, Veronica Garcia, and Nina Garcia all of Lubbock; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Garcia; one brother, Salvador Garcia; and one sister, Elda Garcia.
