Obituary

Funeral Mass for Jose Meguel Torres Gallegos, 31, formerly of Plainview, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Gallegos died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born Sept. 21, 1976, in Juarez, Mexico. Jose and Anabele Gallegos were married Aug. 7, 2003, in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife of Odessa; one daughter, Jaylyn Gallegos of Odessa; three brothers, Juan Reyes and Francisco Melendez Jr., both of Odessa, and Soccorro Melendez of Plainview, three sisters, Veronica Hernandez of Juarez, Mexico, Marisol Vasquez of Odessa, and Ivette Melendez of Plainview; his adopted parents, Francisco and Estella Melendez of Plainview; and grandmothers, Anita Torres and Maria Melendez. His sister, Carol Melendez and brother, Gabino Melendez, are deceased.
