Obituary

Paul Johnson Frisbie, 86, of Plain?view passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Garland Street Church of Christ with J.W. Hamby officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Frisbie was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Carey, Texas, to Basil Duke and Maudie Irene Johnson Frisbie. He was a veteran of World War II, serving honorably aboard the U.S.S. West Virginia from Nov. 10, 1941, to Oct. 27, 1943, and survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served in the South Pacific Campaigns from Dec. 23, 1943, to June 18, 1945. He received the Purple Heart medal. He married Mary Francis Lollis on Jan. 2, 1949, in Amarillo. Paul was the general manager at Byron Jackson Pump Co. in Plain?view. He was a dedicated volunteer at Garland Street Church of Christ and managed their National Bible Studies program. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Buck, David and Royce Frisbie; and two sisters, Helen Frisbie Bell and Ruby Frisbie English. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frisbie of Plain?view; his children, Sharon Hodges and her husband, Steve, of Hereford, Paulette Foster and her husband, Steve, of Lazbuddie, Kevin Frisbie of Lubbock and Patti Frisbie of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Duke Frisbie of Athens, Texas; a sister, Ruth Bailey of Alamogordo, N.M.; his grandchildren, Heather Hodges of Dallas, Brice Foster of Lubbock, Cody Hodges of Dallas and Slade Hodges of Wichita Falls; and his great-grandchildren, Emma Kate and Easton Foster of Lubbock and Knox Hodges of Wichita Falls.
