Funeral services for Margaret Elizabeth Winter Foster, 89, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bartley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Foster died Monday, June 22, 2009, at Plainview Healthcare Center. She was born Oct. 21, 1919, to P.L. and Maude Winter in Bryan, Texas. She was raised in the Bryan/College Station area. She met the love of her life, W. Carroll Foster, when she was working in Woolworth's Variety Store while he was attending Texas A&M University. They married March 5, 1941, and were blessed with 62 years of marriage. They moved to Plainview in the late 1940s where she worked at Skibell's and was a homemaker. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn Sue Curtis, and Kay and Jim Stanton, all of Plainview, and Connie Shepherd Moody of Old Hickory, Tenn.; a son, Charles Edward Foster of Plainview; a brother-in-law, James Foster of Boise, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Eula Foster of Pasadena, Texas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Pearl Clinton and Glenda Tipton, both of Plainview. She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; one sister; her husband, Carroll, on June 26, 2003; and one son, Craig Foster on Aug. 4, 2002. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity or to the College Heights Baptist Church Building Fund. Family will be at 1109 Itasca St. in Plainview.
