Foote, James Obed

Funeral services for James Obed Foote, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with Dr. Max Browning, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Foote died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Winnsboro, graduated from Petersburg High School and attended Texas Teck University. He was one of the first young men to be drafted in Hale County in 1940. He served in the 112th Calvary in World War II. He was employed by Hale County State Bank for 31 years, retiring as vice president and cashier in 1984.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and had been an active member of the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and the Chamber of Commerce.

He married Billie Robertson on Dec. 18, 1948, in Memphis, Texas.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, DeLynn and Tim Brennan of Plano, a son and daughter in law, Mark and Patricia Foote of Cheyenne, Wyo., and two grandchildren, J.T. and Emily Brennan; one brother, Robert Foote of Duncanville, and a sister, Helen Weaver of Washington, D.C.

Two brothers, W.C. Foote Jr. and Glenn Foote, are deceased.
