Obituary

Funeral services for Ruby Jean Foote, 71, were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Bales officiating. Burial was in Petersburg Cemetery by White Funeral Home of Idalou. Mrs. Foote died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, in Lubbock. She was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Petersburg, the daughter of Roy Lee and Edna Harris McDaniel. She graduated from Petersburg High School and had worked as a bookkeeper for First State Bank for 38 years. She was a lifelong resident of Petersburg, a homemaker, a member of the Eastern Star and of First Baptist Church. On May 19, 1950, she married Glenn "Pig" Foote in Petersburg. He died June 19, 1994. Her parents also are deceased. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Christi Foote of Odessa; a daughter, Tommye Blair of Petersburg; two sisters, Janice Goldston of Tucumcari, N.M., and Martha Herring of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
