Obituary

Rosary for Mario Santiago "Geronimo" Flores, 50, will be held at 7 p.m. today, Aug. 18, 2008, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Hale Center. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at the same church with the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mr. Flores died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born July 25, 1958, in Eagle Pass, Texas. He moved to Hale Center at the age of 11 and attended school there. He had been employed with Hale Center Co-op since he was 13. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Valentin Flores, and a daughter, Diana Flores Garcia, who died on March 5, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Frances Flores; his mother, Sulema Flores; two sons, Mario Flores and his wife, Araselly, and Geronimo Flores; one granddaughter, Diana Flores; and a special niece, Precious Rosales, all of Hale Center; seven brothers, Lupe Flores, Rogelio Flores, Valentin Flores, Raul Flores, Mike Flores, Oscar Flores and Alex Flores; and six sisters, Sonia Garcia, Chavela "Isabel" Salas, Sara Jimenez, Josie Martinez, Zulema Rojas and Angie Ozbirn
