Obituary

Funeral services for Simona Flores, 84, were at 2 p.m. today in St. Theresa Catholic Church with the Rev. John Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Hale Center Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Flores died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at Prairie House Living Center. She grew up in Palestine and moved to Hale Center in 1941, where she lived most of her life. She married Alfredo Flores in 1941. He died in 1988. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Survivors include five sons, Paul Flores of Dimmitt, Joe Angel Flores of Lubbock and Alfred, Juan and Ramon Flores, all of Plainview; seven daughters, Catarina Quintero of McAllen, Rosalinda Vargas of Silverton, Beatrice Flores of Lubbock, Sylvia Guerrero and Teresa Gerhardt, both of Hale Center, and Anita Castillo and Carolina Flores, both of Plainview; 58 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Margarita Flores, is deceased.
