Obituary

Sammy Eugene Finley, 57, of 214 Cedar St. died Monday afternoon in Lubbock General Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel. Officiating will be Don Norwood, minister of Garland Street Church of Christ, and J.W. Hamby, elder of the church. Burial will be in Slaton Cemetery directed by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview.
Mr. Finley was born May 20, 1925 in Swisher County. He spent most of his life in military service, fighting in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was discharged permanently disabled in 1953 and came to Plainview after his discharge. He lived with an aunt, Mrs. John Barry.
Mr. Finley was member of Garland Street Church of Christ, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Diabled American Veterans.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. J.E. Hendricks of Bakersfield, Calif., two brothers, Donald D. Finley of San Jose, Calif. and Guy M. Finley of Dallas; and two aunts, Mrs. Barry and Norene Johnson of Ephrata, Wash.
