Obituary

KRESS - Funeral Mass for Pedro R. Ferrer, 64, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview with the Rev. Gerard Kenney, pastor, officiating. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the same church. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. Mr. Ferrer died Friday, June 28, 2002, in Kress. He was born July 23, 1937, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He had lived in Kress for 37 years and was retired from Excel Corporation after 27 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview. On July 20, 1965, he married Maria Peralez in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Miguel Ferrer of Floydada, Joe Ferrer, Gabriel Ferrer and Marcos Jose Ferrer, all of Dallas, and Jonah Timothy Ferrer of Kress; six daughters, Esmeralda Andaverde of Homedale, Idaho, Matilda Mariscal of Plainview, Rosemary Ferrer of Dallas, Elsa Hernandez of Lubbock, Blanca Flor Ferrer and Stephanie Ferrer, both of Kress; one sister, Maria del Refugio Gonzalez; three brothers, Luis Ferrer, Angel Jose Ferrer and Margarito Ferrer; and 26 grandchildren.
