Obituary

Graveside services for Iva Ferguson, 91, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hale Center Cemetery with Kevin Haralson, pastor of Freewill Baptist Church in Hector, Ark., officiating. Arrangements are with Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Ferguson died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Waldron Nursing Center in Waldron, Ark. She was born Aug. 5, 1916, in Santa Anna. She married Lester Ferguson on Dec. 3, 1936, in Plainview. He died April 8, 1978. She was an LVN at Hi-Plains Hospital and later was the charge nurse for Hi-Plains Nursing Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hale Center. She moved to Waldron in 1991 and attended First Nazarene Church. Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, Lester and Elaine Ferguson of Lubbock and Burt and Sue Ferguson of Odessa; two daughters, Melba Wright of Waldron, Ark., and Carole Pettijohn of Coppell; one sister, Rhoda Pritchard of Surprise, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A grandchild, Kyle Wright, is deceased.
