Obituary

Funeral services for Eva Mae "Billie" Ferguson, 94, of Hale Center were at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Hale Center with Dr. Carroll Green officiating. Burial followed in Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop. Mrs. Ferguson died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Lubbock Hospitality House. She was born Aug. 5, 1916, in Goldthwaite to Samuel Bascom and Mary Elizabeth Davis. She moved to Abernathy in 1925 and to Hale Center in 1932. She married Jim A. Ferguson on Sept. 9, 1934, in Clovis, N.M. He died Nov. 3, 1988. She was a Baptist. Survivors include two sons, James "Jimmy" Ferguson of Plainview and Bobby Ferguson of Lamesa; one daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Royce Duckett of Lubbock; one brother, Marvin Davis of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A sister, Gladys Davis; and three brothers, Bill Davis, Wilbur Jack "Shorty" Davis and Arvil "Sam" Davis, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
