Ferguson, Ernest R.

Funeral services for Ernest Ferguson, 79, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Sharon Wiese, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Olton, and the Rev. Dean McNamara, chaplain of VistaCare Family Hospice, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Ferguson died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Byars, Okla. He moved to Plainview in 1934 from Spade and had worked for Green Machinery for 13 years and at Peerless Pump Co., for 21 years.

He was a member of Date Street Baptist Church.

On Feb. 20, 1946, he married Viola Mary Debusk in Olton.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters and sons-in-law, Violet and Phil Borron of Plainview, Iris Gayle and Buddy Bynum of Abilene and Wanda K. and Glenn Spradling of Jacksonville, N.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Terisa Ferguson of Plainview; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Two grandsons are serving in Iraq with Operation Freedom, and another grandson is stationed at Fort Hood.

A sister is deceased.
