Memorial services for David Erwin Ferguson, 58, former Plainview resident, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, in Bethel Baptist Church. Graveside services will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Ferguson died Sept. 5, 2004, in the Dayton Veterans Administration Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born May 13, 1946, in Plainview. He entered with the U.S. Army in 1964 and served three tours in Vietnam. He was awarded two Bronze Stars as well as numerous other medals and honors. He retired an E-6 staff sergeant. After returning from service, he worked at the Plainview water treatment plant. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Heidi Ferguson of Angleton and Robert and Pam Ferguson of McPherson, Kan.; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Mathew Lucas of Dayton, Ohio; three sisters, Caroline Ellis of Hoquiam, Wash., Charline Castiloe of Amarillo and Donna Innes of Grand Island, Neb.; a brother, Bob Fines of Plainview; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. His wife, Bennie Advock Ferguson; his parents, Vernon and Mildred Ferguson; and a sister, Glenda Boger Caling, are deceased.
