Obituary

Gregoria "Golla" Favila, 79, of Plainview passed away on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at First Assembly of God with David Tijerina, pastor of New Vision Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at the funeral home. Golla was born on March 12, 1935, in Mexico. She grew up in Mexico and attended schools there. She married Espiridino "Speedy" Favila on July 4, 1953, in McAllen, Texas. They lived in Plainview where she was a homemaker, a great mother, and a fantastic grandmother. She was always willing to help someone if they needed it, no matter if it was family or friends or even a stranger. She was a member of the New Vision Church in Plainview. Survivors include her husband Speedy Favila of Plainview; two sons, Rocky Favila and wife Irene of Hereford, and LeRoy Favila and wife Leticia of Plainview; two daughters, Saydie Favila and Brittney Favila of Plainview; one sister, Anita Castilla of McAllen; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
