Obituary

Funeral services for Bernice Ardoth Faver, 88, were at 2 p.m. today at Hale Center Church of Christ with Jason Feed officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Faver died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock after a brief illness. She was born June 4, 1918, in Parker County to Jessie Blanche Pate and Oliver V. Powell. She was raised in Spade and graduated from Cotton Center High School. She married Clifton O. Faver on April 12, 1941, in Hale Center. He died June 17, 1995. She worked for many years sewing and altering clothes for surrounding communities as well as a seamstress at Vick's Cleaners in Plainview. She was an active member of Hale Center Church of Christ from 1933 until she moved to a special care facility in 2003. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis O. and Elaine Faver of Newport News, Va.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Yvonne Rhoderick and Janice Faver, both of Hale Center, and Cheryl and Charles Case of Alvarado; three sisters, Clotee Minchew of Hereford, Imogene Hollingsworth of Plainview and Afton Thomas of Dumas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Her parents; husband; and two sons, Ronald Keith Faver and Michael Allen Faver, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to Hale Center Church of Christ Building Fund, Lubbock Children's Home or a favorite charity.
