Obituary

Billie Farrar, age 88, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008, in Decatur, Texas. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Her nephew, Joe Don Hancock, will officiate. Mrs. Farrar was born Billie Davis on Feb. 10, 1920, in Royse City, Texas, to Will Davis and Mollie (Vicars) Davis. Billie moved to Plainview with her family in 1927. She attended Liberty and Kress schools and graduated from Kress High School. She married Frank L. Farrar on Dec. 14, 1941, in Clovis, N.M. Billie and Frank farmed east of Olton for 29 years. They had two children; Deanna and Rocky. Billie was a homemaker, a caring wife and always interested in her children and grandchildren's activities. Billie also was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank L. Farrar, in 1983; three brothers; and three sisters. Billie is survived by her daughter, Deanna Jackson and husband Don of Decatur; her son, Rocky Farrar and wife Polly of Canadian; three grandsons, Dirk and wife Katy, Dusty and wife Melissa and Dake Jackson; four granddaughters, Anne, Leigh, Kate and Jenny Farrar; her sister-in-law, Inez Davis of Plainview; two great-granddaughters, Kimberly and Abby; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials in Billie's name may be made to the Westview Boys Home at PO Box 553, Hollis, OK 73550.
