Evans, Charles Wayne

Abernathy-- Funeral services for Charles Wayne Evans, 65, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Lowrie, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home.

Mr. Evans died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, in Lubbock.

He was born May 19, 1938, in Afton, the son of Elgin and Velma Harris Evans, He moved to Abernathy in 1950 from Muleshoe.

He worked for Diamond Shamrock's Abernathy terminal for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

In 1956, he married Patsy Turner in Abernathy.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Perry and Dee Ann Evans of Carrollion and Brian and Jane Evans of Lubbock; a sister, Rita Houston of Abernathy; and five grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to a favortie charity.
