HALE CENTER ? Private services for Nancy Erwin, 68, of Grand Prairie, will be held in the Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. The family will receive friends at Freeman-Abell Funeral Home from 10-11 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Erwin died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at her home in Grand Prairie. She was born in June 22, 1933, in Eastland to J.B. and Alma McAfee Cornett. She married Roy Lynn King, who is now deceased. She was a graduate of Hale Center High School and was employed by the Coalition For Life for seven years, organizing charity fund-raising events. She was a Christian and known to many as "Nana." Survivors include two sons, Terry King of Euless and Barry King of Dallas; one daughter, Mickey Banner of Wills Point; one brother, George Cornett of Hale Center; six sisters, Marie Lewis, Jeanette Steen and Nell Rogers, all of Hale Center, Sylvia Shackelford of Cotton Center, Jean Curry of Tahoka and Mary Ancheta of Pacific Grove, Calif.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Happy Hills Farm and the American Bible Society, which were her favorite charities.
