Obituary
Virginia "Ginger" Heard Ellison, 98, of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, in Idalou. A private family burial will be held. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Ginger was born June 23, 1917 to James and Lou Ella Heard in Plainview where she grew up and attended schools. She also attended Wayland Baptist University. She was a homemaker and antique dealer for many years. She married Floyd Ellison on Feb. 14, 1936. They farmed south of Plainview on Highway 400 for 50 years. Ginger was a member of First United Methodist Church in Petersburg. She loved to paint and make decorative Christmas balls that she gave to many people. She was also a member of the ACBL. She loved her family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her son, Doug Ellison of Petersburg, Texas; grandson, Cooper Ellison and wife Rene of Petersburg, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Whitney Stone and husband Dustin, Lacy Hegi and husband Kyle, Brandon Smith and wife Alex, and Aaron Voight; three great-grandchildren, Bailey Shriver, Emma Hegi and Remington Smith.
