Obituary
Longtime Plainview resident Yreva Mai Ellis passed away on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at the age of 91. She was born on Nov. 14, 1913, in Crystal City, Texas, to the late D.C. and Lora McClain, and they later moved to the Snyder community, south of Plainview. She attended both Wayland Baptist College and West Texas State College where she also taught and coached basketball. Yreva Mae married Elmo V. Ellis in 1932. She was preceded in death by both her husband and her son, Elowyn V. Ellis. Yreva Mae was an avid 4-H leader, a lifetime member of the Texas Cooperative Extension Agency in which she held a variety of state, county and local offices, including president and secretary. She was awarded the Home Demonstration Member of the Year award in 1989. She also was an active member of RSVP and First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lemons Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. She is survived by her daughter, Yolanda Ellis Job of Plainview; along with her grandchildren, Valerie Job and her husband, Gary Merriman; Stefani Spears and her husband, Jonathan; and Brad Job and his wife, Jeanette. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Texas 4-H Foundation or Cal Farley's Texas Boys Ranch
