Obituary

Funeral services for Dwayne "Buddy" Ellis, 70, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Ellis died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, in Covenant Hospital in Lubbock. He was born Dec. 7, 1931, in Plainview where he grew up and attended schools. He worked for Pioneer and Energas for 34 years and was office manager for the service center in Plainview. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and the American Quarter Horse Association. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Mattheus of Port Isabel and Priscilla Hooper of Halfway; two sisters, Elaine McVicker and Gwyn Wilson, both of Plainview; five grandchildren, Misti and Trace Mattheus, and Keenan, William and Hannah Hooper. A son, Barry Dwayne Ellis, and a sister, Charlene Bramlet, are deceased. The family will receive friends at Lemons Funeral home from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday.
