Obituary

Gary Lynn Elliott, 59, of Plainview died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview with Pastor Tracy McWilliams of Odessa officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at the funeral home. Mr. Elliott was born July 11, 1950, in Plainview, Texas, to Elberta Virginia Potts and George Louis Elliott. He married Carolyn S. Speights on Dec. 20, 1968, in Plain?view. He graduated from Plainview High School. He was an excellent craftsman who loved woodworking and making custom furniture. He loved God and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian P. Elliott, on Aug. 24, 2009. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn S. Elliott of Plainview; two daughters, Denise Whitfield and husband, John, of Krum and Dawn Kelley and husband, Mark, of Baytown; his mother, Elberta Virginia Elliott of Plain?view; his father, George Louis Elliott and wife, Marquitta, of Calera, Okla.; two sisters, Nelda Barbian and husband, Tony, of Plainview and Kathryn Cozby and husband, Joe, of Plainview; eight grandchildren, Teresa, Shelby, Randy, Megan, Brittany, Clint, Brady and Koby; one great-grandson, Ezekiel Bradley Elliott; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
