Obituary

Graveside services for Joseph Edwin Ellerd, 78, of Lake Jackson, formerly of Plainview, will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Plainview Cemetery with Pastor Evan Weiss officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. The family will receive friends from 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Ellera died Tuesday, April 17, 2012. He was born June 10, 1933, in Lubbock to Paul and Katy Beatrice Daugherty Ellerd and grew up in Plainview. He married Ollie Ruth Ford on Dec. 28, 1952. She died in 1987. He married Thelma Gillespie in 1990. He was owner of a pest control business. Survivors include his wife; children Becky Ellerd of Baytown, Tim Ellerd and wife Rita of Brazoria and Marc Ellerd and wife Michelle of Santa Fe, Texas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
