Obituary

Memorial services for Rosie Ellena, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Garland Street Church of Christ with Tony Dominguez officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Ellena died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Plainview Health Care Center. She was born Jan. 5, 1933, in Vernon to Elmer and Mae Blair. She married Tony Ellena on April 23, 1950. He died June 2, 2005. She moved to Plainview in 1960 from Hale Center. She was a housewife, a homemaker and a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Debbie Ellena of Plainview; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Danny Newsome of Plainview; one sister, Bell Jobe of Lubbock; eight grandchildren, Bobby Ellena of Amarillo, Ashley Di Iacovo of Michigan and Jeremy Ellena, Tiffany Newsome, Justin Ellena, Heather Barcheers, Jason Newsome and Amber Ellena, all of Plainview; and nine great-grandchildren. Her parents and three sons, Anthony Peter Ellena, Anthony "Andy" Peter Ellena and Stevie Ellena, are deceased.
