Obituary

Nancy Jane Ebeling of Plainview, previously of Albuquerque, N.M., passed on to be peacefully with her Lord on Friday, June 30. Nancy was born in Lubbock, Texas, Jan. 21, 1940, to her parents, Alfred and Lucile Ebeling of Cotton Center. Her early years were spent in the Cotton Center community where she participated in community, school and church activities. After graduating from Cotton Center High School and Texas Tech, she made her home in Albuquerque, N.M., where she taught second grade and later was an elementary school librarian. Nancy enjoyed traveling and had many wonderful trips in our great country as well as many foreign lands. She enjoyed her home in Albuquerque and her lovely yard. Friends were very important to Nancy. She had many dear friends and she cherished each one. She was active in many professional organizations. She was honored with a life membership in the New Mexico Library Association. Nancy had been a member of Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque for over 40 years. Nancy made her home with and is survived by her mother; and her sister, Carol Sue Purcell and brother-in-law, Richard Purcell, all of Plainview. She is also survived by her beloved nephews Todd Purcell and wife Erin of Cordova, Tenn., and Justin Purcell of Eau Clair, Wisc. Nancy committed her body to the Texas Tech University Medical School. Memorial services are pending with First United Methodist Church of Hale Center.
