Obituary
Rosary for R.M. Duran, 82, of Abernathy will be said at 7 p.m. today at W.W. Rix Chapel.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe with the Rev. Jim O'Connor officiating.
Burial will be in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
He died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in San Antonio.
He was born March 16, 1919, in Santa Rosa, N.M. He married Vivian Cadena on Dec. 22, 1956, in Lubbock. He moved to Abernathy in 1961. He was employed by Oliver Jackson as a farmer and retired in 1988. He was a member of St. Isidore for 38 years and served as an usher. He was a member of Sacred Heart.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy Esquibel and Beatrice D. Naranjo, both of San Antonio; three sons, Ralph of Fort Worth, Tommy of La Cresenta, Calif., and Rudy Duran of San Antonio; a brother, Charlie of Lubbock; a sister, Josie of Abernathy; and 12 grandchildren.
