Obituary

ABERNATHY - Funeral Mass for Josefita "Josie" Duran, 93, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Isidore Catholic Church with the Rev. Arnold Bravo officiating. Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the same church. Ms. Duran died Sunday, July 28, 2002. She was born June 14, 1907, in Santa Rosa, N.M. She moved to Estacado in 1924 and to Abernathy in 1950. She worked for Hall?s Laundromat and later Lubbock Laundry and Cleaners. She was a member of the Society of Mary and the Guadalupanas, a founding member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Lubbock. Survivors include a brother, Charlie Duran of Lubbock. The family suggests memorials to St. Isidore Catholic Church.
