Obituary
Vesta Lee Dunlop, 87, of Post, and formerly of New Deal, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006, in Lubbock.

Vesta was born, along with her twin brother, Chester Feazell on May 13, 1918 in Dekalb, TX to Arthur and Ruth Feazell.
She married the love of her life, Malcom Wales Dunlop on Dec. 18, 1937 in Lubbock. Vesta and Wales lived and farmed near New Deal until Wales death on Sept. 14, 1987.
Vesta and Wales were members of several area riding clubs in the area and enjoyed participating in Rodeo Parades with their children and grandchildren. Vesta was particularly fond of attending her children and grandchildren's many activities. She was employed at Dunlap's in Lubbock for many years and was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and a son-in-law, Larry Cooper.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Kay Henley and her husband T.J. "Tom" of Post, TX, and Beth Cooper of Houston. She is also survived by, and "Mudder", to her 2 granddaughters, Donna Preston and her husband Leslie of Smyer and Cindy Henley of Littlefield; 2 grandsons, James Henley and wife Gina of Lubbock, and Jack Cooper of Houston; 4 great granddaughters, Khristy Biggs and her husband Mike of California, Briana, Brittany and Brogan Henley of Lubbock; 4 great grandsons, Justin Preston and wife Whitney and Brad Jeffreys all of Smyer, Cody Preston also of Smyer and Treavor Cooper of Houston; and a great great grandson, Hunter Preston of Lubbock. She is also survived by 4 special sisters-in-law, Mildred Billingsley of Lubbock, Fern Elliott of Shallowater, Iris Finley of Lamesa and Leta Fern Dunlop of Mesquite, numerous nieces and nephews and her special family at Golden Plains Care Center in Post.
Services will be held Monday, April 3, 2006, in the Abernathy Church of Christ at 3 p.m. with Steve Gauntt officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
