Edward Ray Dudley Jr., 77, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, in Plainview. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at 2:30 p.m.. at Trinity Fellowship Church with Dr. Kelly Warren officiating and Oscar Chavez assisting. The family will gather for a time of remembrance Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at Trinity Fellowship Church. Edward Ray Dudley Jr. was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Pampa, Texas, to Ray and Katheryn Dudley. He grew up in Pampa and graduated Pampa High School. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1958. He played football under Bear Bryant where they were Southwest Conference champions in 1956. He married Naomi Watson on Feb. 8, 1964, in Lubbock. Mr. Dudley was the administrator for the last 15 years at the Texan Nursing & Rehab. He was an avid golfer and loved watching Aggie football. Mr. Dudley was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Aggie Alumni Association, Texas A&M Letterman's Association and Trinity Fellowship Church. He is survived by his wife: Naomi Dudley of Plainview; one daughter: Kayla Dudley-Sherman of Lubbock; one son: Scott Edward Dudley and wife Nancy of Amarillo; one sister: Glenda Marcum of Hereford; two grandchildren: Berkeley Sherman and Mason Dudley; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Katheryn Dudley, and a brother, Gary Dudley. Memorials may be made to Children's Building Fund at Trinity Fellowship Church.
