Obituary

Alta Faye Doss, 93, formerly of Plain?view, passed away on Jan. 18 at 3:02 a.m. in Oklahoma City, Okla. The former Alta Faye Davidson was born on Feb. 2, 1919, in Altus, Okla. She grew up in Chillicothe, Texas, where she graduated from high school and attended business college. She married William Cecil Doss in 1941. They moved to Plainview, where they lived for more than 60 years. Mr. Doss owned Doss Automotive in Plainview. Alta was a housewife and a bookkeeper. They were active in Trinity Methodist Church. In 2004, Alta moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Liz Doss, and two sons, Don O. Doss, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and N. Dean Doss of San Diego, Calif.; three granddaughters, Anne Bowes, Brandi Ezell and Kristin Kuenz of Knoxville, Tenn., Oklahoma City, Okla., and Kieser, Ore.; and grandson John Sowdal of Oklahoma City, Okla. She will be interred at Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview.
