Obituary

Rosary for Juan Dominguez Jr., 75, of Abernathy will be today at 7 p.m. in Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Isidore Catholic Church with Father Jacob officiating. Burial will be in Abernathy City Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

Mr. Dominguez died on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, in Lubbock. He was born on May 24, 1936, in Edroy, Texas, to the late Juan Sr. and Juanita Dominguez. He married Josefa "Josie" Sifuentes on June 4, 1955, in Lubbock. He was a retired supervisor for Wolfe Irrigation; he had also worked for many years at Phillips 66 gas station. He moved to Abernathy in 1955 from Edroy, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alicia Dominguez Ramos, on Sept. 12, 2003, and a brother, Jose Dominguez, on Dec. 31, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Josie Dominguez of Abernathy; three sons, Frank and wife Sibia Dominguez of Desoto, Juan Manuel and wife Carrie of Lubbock, and Sam and wife Vickie Dominguez of Abernathy; four daughters, Dolores Bernal of Ennis, Delia Perkins of Grand Prairie, Rebecca and husband Gilbert Garcia of Anton, and Eva Perez (Anthony Contreras) of Lubbock; two brothers, Jesse Dominguez of Abernathy and Fraland Dominguez of Idaho; four sisters, Maria Flores of Lubbock, Noemi Resendez of Dalhart, and Mary Natal and Linda Salazar, both of Abernathy; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
