Prayer services for Jose "Chemo" Dominguez, 63, of Abernathy will be today at 7 p.m. at Iglesia Del Nazareno in Abernathy. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the same church with Rev. Oscar Martinez officiating. Burial will be at Abernathy City Cemetery under direction of Calvillo Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Mr. Dominguez died Friday at his residence. He was born April 28, 1940, in Edroy, Texas, to the late Juan Sr. and Juanita Dominguez. He moved to Abernathy at the age of 16. He married Lydia Mendoza on Nov. 17, 1956, in Abernathy. He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia of Abernathy; one son, Jerry of Abernathy; seven daughters, Eufemia Dominguez, Olga Martinez, Annabel Dominguez, and Maria Garcia, all of Abernathy, Gilda Costilla of Muleshoe, Olivia Duque of Aurora, Colo., and Isabel Ortiz of Hidalgo; three brothers, Juan Manuel Jr. and Jesus, both of Abernathy, and Franklin of Idaho; four sisters, Linda Salazar and Mary Natal, both of Abernathy, Maria Olga Flores of Dallas, and Naomi Resendez of Dalhart; 31 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
