Obituary
Funeral services for Helen Bloodworth Dodds, 71, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, and the Rev. Kenneth Coates, a retired Baptist minister of Abilene, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Dodds died at 5:40 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2002, in Covenant Lakeside in Lubbock. She was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Sulphur, Okla. She graduated from Sulphur High School and received a master?s degree from Oklahoma State University. She moved to Plainview in 1955 and taught school, retiring in 1990. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married C.C. Bloodworth on Sept. 6, 1947, in Gainesville. He died Aug. 1, 1980. On June 9, 1984, she married Marlin Ernest Dodds in Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Kathryn Bloodworth of Klein; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Rick Ensor of Thorndale; a sister in Arizona; and five grandchildren, Christopher and Alisha Bloodworth of Klein and Katy, Derick and Matthew Ensor of Thorndale. A daughter, Marcia Bloodworth, died Oct. 22, 1967 and a brother, Winfred Smith, also is deceased. The family will receive visitors from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
