Dixon, Michael Chad
Abernathy- Funeral services for Michael Chad Dixon, 17, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Bolton, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, and the Rev. C.C. Peoples Officiating.
Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home.
The youth died Thursday, Jan. 29 1998, in University Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born Sept. 26, 1980, in Lubbock and moved with his family to Abernathy in 1987. He was a sophomore at Abernathy High School where he was involved in athletics. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father, Michael Dixon of Lubbock; two brothers, Kendrick D. Dixon and Eric B. Dixon both of Abernathy and his grandmothers, Artavie Bradley of Abernathy and Daisy Dixon of Lubbock.
His mother, Delores Dixon, died March 28, 1994.
The family suggests memorials to the Michael Chad Dixon Memorial Fund at First State Bank, 402 ninth St., Abernathy, TX 79311.
Pallbearers will be James Johnson, O Williams, L.J. Bradley, Lavor Bradley, Andrew Hudson and Edward Herby Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Abernathy High School sophomore class.
