Dillard, Wren Jackson

Funeral services for Wren Jackson Dillard, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dillard died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.

He was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Haskell, the son of Jim and Juanita Dillard. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from PHS in 1940.

He served in the military during World War II, earning six Bronze Stars.

He returned to Plainview where he worked as an auto mechanic, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed gardening and cooking and morning coffee wih friends at the Dairy Queen.

On May 4, 1947, he married his wife, Ann.

Survivors include his wife; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Kitty Dillard of Richardson, Jack and Linda Dillard of Childress, Skip and Michelle Dillard of Bartlesville, Okla., and Ken and Shari Dillard of Norman, Okla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Chuck Reese of Mobile, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A brother, Jerry Dillard, and a sister, Betty Dillard, are deceased.
