Obituary

Funeral services for Manuel Solis Diaz, 50, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Glad Tidings Assembly of God with the Rev. Bob Wright, pastor of First Assembly of God in Spur, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Diaz died at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born April 19, 1952, in Robstown. He moved to Floydada in the early 1960s and to Plainview in 1979. He was a former bus driver for the Texas Migrant Council and was a welder and a bus aide for Laidlaw Transportation. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God. On April 30, 1988, he married Natalia Castillo in Tulia. Survivors include wife; two daughters, Monica Soliz of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jessica Diaz of Plainview; his mother, Rebecca Diaz of Floydada; one brother, Daniel Diaz of Lubbock; two sisters, Lupe Marmolejo and Rosa Ramos, both of Floydada; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Cruz of Amarillo and Laura Martinez of Levelland; a stepson, Pete Trevino of Plainview; three grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dimas Marmolejo, Jose Ramos, Pete Trevino, Daniel Diaz, Henry Gonzalez and Robert Diaz. His father, Bernadino Diaz, and two brothers, are deceased.
