Dendy, E.M. (Big)

Graveside services for E.M. ?Big? Dendy, 83, of Ralls were at 3 p.m. today in Petersburg Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Griffin officiating.

Burial arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home Of Ralls.

Mr. Dendy died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003.

He was born Sept. 27, 1919, in Petersburg. He attended schools in Becton and Farmer and graduated from Ralls High School. He attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview on a football scholarship.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War ll as a foot soldier in Europe. He was awarded several medals, including three bronze starts.

A farmer and salesman, he was a lifelong resident of Petersburg, Lorenzo and Ralls. He was a member of Rlls First Baptist Church and commander of the Petersburg American Legion.

Survivors include a niece and a nephew.
