Obituary

Funeral Mass for Alfonso Delgado, 74, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Samuel Oracion officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 5 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home followed by a celebration service at 6 p.m. at the same location. Mr. Delgado died Friday, May 28, 2010, at his residence. He was born Oct. 30, 1935, in Dilley to Hijinio and Rosa Jimmenez. He married Marcelina Martinez on Nov. 27, 1954, in Clovis, N.M. She died April 26, 2006. He worked for Beef Bi-Products for 35 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include one son, Leroy Delgado of Lubbock; three daughters, Adelina Caudillo of Plainview, Missy Mendoza of North Carolina and Alice Alvarado of Olton; one daughter-in-law, Erika Delgado of Plainview; seven brothers, Baldemar Jimmenez and Ernest Jimmenez of Amarillo, Albert Jimmenez of Plainview, Luis Jimmenez of Corpus Christi, Hijinio Jimmenez Jr., Ernesto Jimmenez and David Corona; four sisters, Maria Cortez of Lubbock, Paulina Cardenas of Chicago, Francis Carrasco of Odessa and Ernestina Ramos of Amarillo; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
