DeLeon, Joe,Jr.

Funeral Mass for Joe DeLeon Jr., 44, of Plainview, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Theresa?s Catholic Church in Hale Center with the Rev. Rey Sorgon, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

Rosary will be recited at the church at 7:30 tonight.

Mr. DeLeon died Friday, June 23, 2000, in University Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born July 17, 1955 in Plainview and graduated from Hale Center High School in 1974. He moved to Plainview in 1978 and worked for Daffern Steel & Supply. He married Carmen Rodriguez on March 25, 2000 in Plainview. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the League of United Latin American Citizens and the Smack Down softball team.

Surviving are his wife; three stepdaughters, Sherrikee, Tiffany and Krystal Rodriguez, all of Plainview; his parents, Joe and Connie DeLeon of Plainview; a brother, Robert DeLeon of Hale Center; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and W.H. Johnson of Hale Center; a niece, Kourtney Johnson of Hale Center, and a nephew, Willie Joe Johnson of Hale Center.
